Welcome!
I honestly don’t introduce myself a lot because most of the people who buy what I sell already know me in real life. But for those of you who don’t, here’s a little about me ✨
My name is Cameron, and I’m a stained glass artist! I realized not long ago that, technically, that makes me an artisan… which feels a little too “big girl” for me personally, but that’s just the imposter syndrome talking 😅
I got married in 2021 to my incredible husband, and in 2025 we welcomed our dreamy little girly pop 💕 She’s truly the light of my life.
I’ve lived in a lot of places. I’m originally from Mississippi, graduated high school in Arkansas, and spent 7 years of my adult life in Utah. Now I live in Charlotte, NC while my husband completes his PhD to become a professor 🎓 We’ve been here for almost 2 years, which is honestly insane. We moved to North Carolina when I was just 6 weeks pregnant, and the day we came to look for a place to live was the same day I found out I was pregnant 🤍
I started stained glass in the summer of 2024. We had just left Utah and were living with my in-laws while we were in between lives. During that time, I decided to try something new and picked up stained glass. It definitely wasn’t pretty at first 😅 but after joining a Facebook group, I decided to take a local class.
Now keep in mind, I wasn’t even waking up until 1 PM at that point in my life, so when I say I made it a goal to get to that 11 AM class every week, I mean it was HARD. But so, so worth it 🙌
If I wasn’t sleeping, I was working my serving job. And if I wasn’t serving, I was doing stained glass at 3 AM in the Florida heat 🥵 I put in a lot of time between the beginning of June and the end of July. The final piece I made that summer is actually the one featured on my main page!
It was my last piece for a while because when I found out I was pregnant, I decided to step away from glass to protect myself from solder fumes 🤍
When I was 3 months postpartum, we took a trip back to Utah for a cousin’s wedding. While we were there, I was talking with another cousin about how he wanted stained glass for his wedding. I mentioned that I knew how to do it, and we started brainstorming from there ✨
When we got back home, I set up shop in my garage, which felt huge since we had never had one before, and got to work. And now, now I’ve done so much glass that I’ve decided to turn it into a full business 💛
I truly believe stained glass is my calling in life. And even if it’s not, I know it has saved me from myself time and time again.
And beyond that, I do this for my grandfather 🤍 He was killed, but before that, he always talked about wanting to get into stained glass. He even had sheets and sheets of glass set aside for one day. Those sheets were washed away during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but his desire to create never went away. So I do this for him and for me.
The name of my company comes from my daughter. Her middle name is Apollo, and when I was trying to come up with a name, I felt completely stuck until it hit me. Apollo is the sun god ☀️ and what do people love most about stained glass? The way it comes alive in the sunlight.
And just like that, Apollo’s Light was born.
It’s still crazy seeing it as an official name on legal documents 🥹
I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope you reach out 💌
